Kodiak Robotics is the only robotics club in the Maricopa Community College District, founded and operated for Phoenix College. Kodiak Robotics is a team that started in 2013 with the guidance of Joshua James, the biosciences lab supervisor and STEM-passionate individual. The group began participating in VEX robotics competitions and received a Judge's Award in 2016, representing phenomenal teamwork, dedication, and the ability to overcome challenges.
However, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, the team was forced to pause their activities and competitions. This was a challenging time for the team, but they used the opportunity to regroup and refocus their efforts, and Kodiak Robotics came back stronger than ever before. With renewed energy and enthusiasm, they pushed themselves to new heights and became one of the best robotics teams in the state, winning yet another Judge's Award in 2023!
